About Our Cottage – The Great Escape

Your View

This is the view from our very secluded Hot Tub, that is fully covered by a Gazebo. It is nestled into a private part of our sight, with Old Growth Forests on 2 sides, our bunkhouse on another, and then this gorgeous Ocean and Mountain view on the other. All of this is located at the end of a dead end road.

The Great Escape comes in 2 configurations. The Cottage, that has a bedroom and sofa bed, both Queen sized and sleeps 4, comfortably. Or, the Cottage and a separate Bunkhouse that has 2 Bunk Beds, that together comfortably sleeps 6. Both have easy access via our newly concreted pathway to and around your Hot Tub. Both configurations are also Dog Friendly (sorry, no cats).

We’ve just installed a gas heater, that is awesome. The Cottage has a fully equipped kitchen, living room area with a Flat Screen TV, Cable, DVD Player, and Netflix. There are lots of games and puzzles for those rainy days. Has free WiFi. The spacious patio deck has a covered BBQ area and an enclosed Gas Fire Pit for those ‘lazy days, even when there is a ‘fire ban’ in place.

Is The Great Escape a Pet Friendly Cottage?

Yes, pets are welcome to stay in our cottage and there are feeding and water dishes provided for them. Our only request is that they don’t go on the furniture or beds. Sorry no cats.

Places to Eat in Port Renfrew

The Renfrew Pub

The Renfrew Hotel Pub
Awesome atmosphere, food and selection of craft beer. Play pool or darts while you enjoy your meal. The Crispy Chicken Sandwich is the best, and so are the Fish and Chips, with a vast selection of Craft Beer.

The Coastal Kitchen Cafe

Coastal Kitchen
The Coastal Kitchen Café is a local institution. Manager Chelsea likely knows the regulars by name. The beachy, laid-back restaurant serves up modern West Coast eats: super fresh seafood (local catch, buckets of mussels, rich chowders), organic salads and power-packed smoothies. Try the Coastal Burger. It is “6 oz. of redneck heaven.” They are only open seasonally.

Tomi’s and Bridgemans

Tomi’s Home Cooking and Bridgemans West Coast Eatery
Tomi’s has burgers, wraps, Tortilla’s and sandwiches that are truly ‘Home Cooked’. It has free WiFi and is licensed. This restaurant has serviced vacation rental guests for years, and is the closest to the cottage.

Bridgemans is located right at the Pacific Gateway Marina, on the water. It offers great food, with both indoor, outdoor and patio seating. It is also licensed.
